When Jesus shared His last Passover meal, He was pointing us toward the greatest celebration in history—the marriage supper of the Lamb. This feast, described in Revelation, is a glorious banquet where Jesus, the Bridegroom, celebrates with His church, the bride. It’s a multi-day celebration of joy, honor, and love—showing how much He cherishes His people.
When we take Communion, even though it’s just a small piece of bread and a sip of wine. it’s like a taste of that future celebration. Paul reminds us to rejoice and celebrate because Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
Communion isn’t meant to be a somber ritual. It’s a joyful feast, a celebration of our salvation, and a reminder that one day we’ll share in the ultimate banquet with Jesus—laughing, praising, and rejoicing together.
In other words, Communion is both a thankful remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice and a preview of the eternal joy that awaits all who belong to Him.
LET US PRAY!
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the promise of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we journey through this world, help us to keep our eyes fixed on the hope of what is to come. Strengthen our faith, guide our steps, and fill our hearts with peace, knowing that one day we will dwell in Your presence forever. Prepare us, Lord, to live in Your glory, to love as You love, and to experience the fullness of joy in Your eternal kingdom.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen!
