“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.”— 1 Peter 2:21 (NKJV)
Being a follower of Christ isn’t just about the blessings — it’s also about embracing the spiritual journey, even when it includes pain or injustice. 1 Peter 2:21 reminds us that Jesus didn’t only die for us; He showed us how to live, especially in the difficult moments.
When Jesus was mocked, beaten, and crucified, He didn’t retaliate. He remained silent before His accusers, entrusting Himself to God, who judges righteously. That’s not weakness — that’s amazing strength. And that’s the path we’re called to walk.
In a world that says, “Stand up for yourself,” “An eye for an eye,” or “Don’t let anyone walk over you,” Jesus says, “Follow Me.” Not into defeat — but into divine strength, forgiveness, and purpose.

Ask yourself “How Can I Follow His Steps?”
1. When you’re wronged; respond with grace instead of revenge. That doesn’t mean enabling abuse or injustice, but choosing not to become bitter or hateful.
2. When you’re overlooked or mistreated at work; remember that God sees it all. Serve with integrity anyway.
3. When you suffer for doing good; don’t give up. You’re in good company. Jesus did too.
4. When forgiveness is hard; look to the cross. Jesus forgave those who crucified Him. He’ll help you forgive too.
LET US PRAY!
Lord, thank You for showing me how to walk through suffering with purpose and peace. Help me to follow in Your steps — not just when it’s easy, but when it’s hard. Give me strength to trust You in every trial, and grace to reflect You in my response.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
