How do you balance the demands of work with your spiritual or religious commitments?
Balancing the demands of work with my spiritual commitments can be very challenging at times and require some sacrifices. The best way I’ve found to create this balance is waking up 30 mins earlier than I normally would. I use this quiet time by dedicating it to worship and reading the bible. Doing this gives me uninterrupted time when my mind is most calm and open. Starting the day with God provides the foundation to tackle all of my professional demands, and that’s how I find true balance.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your work, and how does it align with your faith?
As an architect the most rewarding part of my work is translating my clients thoughts into a singular cohesive concept that not only serves my creative passions but also provides an environment that fosters well-being and community. I see my designs not just as structures but as places that can evoke emotions of joy and create connections. Through my designs I’m in service to my fellow man, which is in line with my calling as a christian. Knowing that I can provide someone with a feeling of connection, whether connection to God, nature, or a sense of purpose, I’m left feeling deeply fulfilled.
