Colossians 2:13-14 offers a stunning picture of God’s grace: ‘When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.’ Imagine every mistake you’ve ever made, every moment of shame, every wrong word or deed you can’t undo. Now picture all of that being written on a ledger, a debt you could never repay. Then see Jesus taking that list, carrying it to the cross, and driving nails through it, canceling it forever. That’s what forgiveness looks like in God’s economy. It’s not just a one-time act; it’s a complete rewriting of your story.

But this gift comes with a challenge. It calls you to live differently, to let go of what’s been forgiven and extend that same mercy to others. So pause today and ask yourself some questions. Are there sins you’re still holding onto, afraid to release into God’s hands? Is there someone in your life you’ve refused to forgive, keeping their debt alive in your heart? If God has canceled your unpayable debt, what keeps you from releasing theirs?

Mercy isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s the most powerful force God offers us. Reflect on one specific area where you need to receive forgiveness or offer it to someone else. Write it down if you can, then pray for the strength to act. The cross didn’t just erase your past; it freed you to live a new story. What will that story look like today?

LET US PRAY!
Lord, we don’t come because we deserve it—
We come because You are merciful.

Forgive us for the ways we have fallen short—
in our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
Wash us clean, not by our efforts, but by Your grace.

Father, let Your mercy cover our pasts,
Your grace sustain our present,
and Your Spirit guide our futures.

When we feel weak, remind us of 2 Corinthians 12:9 — that Your grace is sufficient for us, and Your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Teach us to extend the same mercy You give us to others.
Soften our hearts, remove pride, and help us to walk in humility and love.

Lord, We surrender every burden, every mistakes, and every fear into Your hands.
Let Your grace speak louder than our guilt.
Let Your mercy be greater than our failures.

Thank You for never giving up on us.
Thank You for loving us even when we fall short.

We receive Your grace today.
We walk in Your mercy today.
And we trust You with our lifes.

In Jesus’ name,
AMEN!
