One of humanity’s deepest pursuits is finding our identity–we want to know who we are! It’s often tempting to seek definition and significance in a world that offers a myriad of labels. But when we chase validation in temporary sources, hoping they’ll define us, we only find fleeting satisfaction.
In 2 Corinthians 5:21, Paul describes an eternal identity gifted to us by Christ: “For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Jesus took on the weight of all sin—absorbing its penalty—without ever sinning Himself. He did this so that we might be reconciled to God with a new identity defined by Christ’s righteousness, not our own and not from this world. Christ has sacrificially given us a new identity and purpose.

Consider today how this truth shapes your sense of worth. Are you seeking worldly validation, or are you resting in Jesus’ righteousness? How might recognizing your identity in Christ transform how you view yourself and interact with the world?
LET US PRAY!
We come before You today with an open heart, seeking to understand our true worth—not by what the world says, but by what You have spoken over us.
Lord, sometimes we feel unsure of who we are and what our worth is. Doubt creeps in, and we forget that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Remind us, God, that our values are not based on our mistakes, our past, or other opinions—but on Your unchanging love.
Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for choosing us, for loving us, and for paying the ultimate price so I could be called Yours. Help us to truly believe that we are enough because You are enough in us.
Teach us to see ourself the way You see us—redeemed, chosen, forgiven, and deeply loved. When insecurity rises, silence it with Your truth. When we feel unworthy, remind us that we are children of the King.
Fill our hearts with confidence that comes from You alone. Let our identities be rooted in Christ, not in comparison or fear. Help us walk boldly in the purpose You’ve placed on our lives, knowing we are valuable because we belong to You.
Thank You, Lord, for loving us completely. We receive Your love today. We receive our worth in You.
In Jesus’ name,
AMEN.
