f any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” — James 1:5 (KJV)
There are moments in life when we simply don’t know what to do. We may face difficult decisions, uncertain circumstances, strained relationships, or situations where the right path isn’t obvious.
James reminds us that God does not expect us to figure everything out on our own.
When you lack wisdom, ask God.
Notice that James doesn’t say, “If you are smart enough, you will know what to do.” He says to ask God. God is willing to give wisdom generously, without making us feel ashamed for needing His help.
Sometimes we pray, “Lord, change my situation.” But God may first give us something even more valuable: wisdom to walk through the situation.
Wisdom is more than knowledge. Knowledge tells you what is happening; wisdom helps you understand what to do with it.
SHARE YOUR FAITH!
Before making a decision, ask:
Lord, what are You trying to teach me?
What choice honors You?
Am I responding from faith or from fear?
Give me wisdom to see this situation the way You see it.
You don’t have to have every answer today. You just need to know where to go for the answer.
“When you don’t know what to do, ask the One who already knows the way.”
LET US PRAY!
Heavenly Father,
We come before You acknowledging that there are times when we don’t know what to do. we need Your wisdom. Give us clarity when our minds are confused, patience when we want to rush, and discernment when we are faced with difficult decisions. Help us not to depend only on our own understanding. Teach us to seek You first and trust Your direction. Give us wisdom to recognize the right opportunities, the right relationships, and the right decisions. When we are uncertain, remind us that we can come to You without fear or shame. Thank You for being a God who gives generously. Guide our thoughts, our words, and our steps. Let Your wisdom lead us today.
