“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ”
-2 Peter 3:18
One day, a little seed was planted in rich soil. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Day after day, the ground looked the same. If someone had walked by, they might have thought the seed was lifeless.
But beneath the surface, something incredible was taking place. Tiny roots were stretching deeper into the soil. The seed was becoming stronger before anyone could see the growth.
When the rain came, the roots absorbed the water. When the sun shined, the seed received warmth. Over time, a small green sprout appeared. It continued growing until it became a healthy plant that provided beauty and fruit.
Our walk with God is much like that seed. We may not always see immediate changes in ourselves, but every prayer, every Bible verse we read, every act of obedience, and every lesson we learn helps our spiritual roots grow deeper.
There will be seasons of sunshine and seasons of storms. The sunshine reminds us of God’s blessings, while the storms strengthen our faith and teach us to depend on Him. Just as a plant needs both rain and sunlight to grow, Christians grow through both joyful and difficult seasons.
God is not looking for overnight perfection. He is looking for faithful hearts that continue to trust Him. As we stay connected to Him each day, He shapes our character, deepens our faith, and helps us become more like Jesus.
If you feel like you’re not growing, don’t give up. Keep praying. Keep reading God’s Word. Keep trusting Him. Even when you cannot see it, God is still working beneath the surface, and in His perfect time, your growth will become evident for His glory.
LET US PRAY!
Heavenly Father, thank You for being patient with us as we grow. Help us to stay rooted in Your Word, faithful in prayer, and obedient to Your will. Even when we don’t see immediate results, remind us that You are working in our life. Shape us into the person You created us to be, so that our life will bear fruit that brings glory to You.
In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
