“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” — Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of faith. We often want God to answer now, open the door now, fix the situation now, and show us what comes next now.
But Psalm 27:14 reminds us that waiting on God isn’t the same as doing nothing. Waiting is trusting.
David says, “Be of good courage.” That means that while you’re waiting, don’t allow fear, disappointment, or uncertainty to convince you that God has forgotten you.
Sometimes God doesn’t change the situation immediately because He is strengthening you while you wait.
You may be praying about something right now and wondering:
– “When is God going to answer me?”
– “Why hasn’t things changed yet?”
– “Did God hear my prayer?”
– “Why does it seem like everyone else is moving forward?”
Psalm 27:14 gives you the answer: Wait on the Lord.
God’s timing isn’t always our timing, but His timing is never careless. While you’re waiting for the promise, God may be preparing your character, strengthening your faith, developing your patience, or preparing the circumstances around you.
REFLECTION:
“God may not be early according to my clock, but He is always faithful according to His purpose.”
The waiting season is not a wasted season. God can do some of His greatest work in you while you’re waiting for Him to do something for you. So don’t give up because you haven’t seen the answer yet. Don’t walk away because the door hasn’t opened. Don’t let discouragement make you abandon what you prayed about.
Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep serving. Keep trusting. Keep waiting.
Because the same God who heard your prayer is the God who will sustain you while you wait for the answer.
LET US PRAY!
Father, help us to wait on You without losing hope. When we don’t understand what You’re doing, give us the courage to trust that You are still working. Strengthen our hearts when we are become discouraged, and teach us to trust Your timing instead of our own. Help us remain faithful in the waiting season and believe that You have not forgotten us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
